This is a version of Share-to-Unlock Prize Scam.

Fake La Colonia 51st anniversary gift card quiz that asks you to share it on social media

Pages using the Supermercados La Colonia name and logo say "Congratulations!" and offer a gift card worth L10000 for answering a four-question quiz about the store's 51st anniversary. The banner, in Spanish, tells you to share the anniversary on your social networks in Honduras and invite your friends to win a gift card. Below the quiz, a list of comments shows people saying they already won. At least two web addresses carried these pages. They were reported between August 6 and October 17, 2026, and neither is La Colonia's own website.

What’s different in this version

These traits set this message apart from the usual pattern.

  1. The brand used is Supermercados La Colonia, a supermarket chain in Honduras. The prize is in lempiras (L10000).

  2. The page mixes English and Spanish: the headings are in English and the prize, question and banner are in Spanish.

  3. Sharing is written into the banner, with buttons for Facebook, WhatsApp, Instagram, TikTok, X and Telegram.

  4. One address misspells the brand (lacoloia-gift[.]com) and the other is short random letters (kbtwp[.]com).

  5. The page shows the date you open it as the promotion date. The copy saved on August 6 showed 8/6/2026.

  6. The fake comments use the same names and the same words as the Jollibee version in this family.

How this scam works

  1. 1

Step 1: You receive or open a page that uses a well-known brand name and says you have won a prize.

  2. 2

Step 2: The page asks you to share it on social media or with multiple groups or friends through messaging apps before you can claim the prize.

  3. 3

Step 3: The shared link may use an unrelated web address and take recipients through another prize or reward page.

  4. 4

Step 4: The page may later ask for personal details, payment information, or additional actions to release the supposed prize.

✓ Do this

  • Close the page and verify promotions through the brand's official website or app, opened independently.
  • Warn anyone you may have sent the link to so they do not open it or share it further.
  • Report the message or page through the service where you received it, then delete it.
  • If you entered information or payment details, contact your bank or card provider and change any reused password through the official service.

✗ Avoid this

  • Do not share the page with groups, friends, or family to unlock a prize.
  • Do not enter personal, account, or payment information on an unfamiliar prize page.
  • Do not trust a brand logo, countdown, comments, or claims that other people already received the reward.
  • Do not use links from the page to verify the promotion; find the official brand website yourself.
