Fake OPay ₦50,000 NERSI relief page promising an instant cash payment
A page at gifmi[.]site/opay-50k-relief uses OPay branding and promises ₦50,000 in "NERSI Relief Support Funds". It says "POWERED BY: NERSI & FG" and asks visitors to accept the money, complete a 30-second registration and confirm their details. A deadline and a Facebook-style comment section make the offer look urgent and popular. The page was observed on November 6, 2026, targeting Nigeria. The captured screen does not establish any genuine OPay or government backing, and the steps after the accept button were not recorded.
What’s different in this version
These traits set this message apart from the usual pattern.
-
The offer combines OPay branding with a claim of federal-government backing, using the initials "FG" and the name "NERSI".
-
The promotional image promises ₦50,000 and says no fees, PIN, one-time password or passwords are required. These are claims made by the page, not verified guarantees.
-
The first screen asks visitors to press "Accept ₦50,000" and promises an instant credit after a 30-second registration. No registration fields or later screens were preserved in this capture.
-
An "Ending 8th November" deadline and a Facebook-style comment section encourage trust and quick action. The comments are part of the captured webpage, not independently verified testimonials.
-
The capture analysis groups this page with other cash-giveaway pages. The exact sharing or verification requirements for this OPay version have not been established.
-
No payment, loss, data submission or completed payout was documented. How the link reached people was not recorded.

How this scam works
- 1
Step 1: You receive or open a page that uses a well-known brand name and says you have won a prize.
- 2
Step 2: The page asks you to share it on social media or with multiple groups or friends through messaging apps before you can claim the prize.
- 3
Step 3: The shared link may use an unrelated web address and take recipients through another prize or reward page.
- 4
Step 4: The page may later ask for personal details, payment information, or additional actions to release the supposed prize.
✓ Do this
- Close the page and verify promotions through the brand's official website or app, opened independently.
- Warn anyone you may have sent the link to so they do not open it or share it further.
- Report the message or page through the service where you received it, then delete it.
- If you entered information or payment details, contact your bank or card provider and change any reused password through the official service.
✗ Avoid this
- Do not share the page with groups, friends, or family to unlock a prize.
- Do not enter personal, account, or payment information on an unfamiliar prize page.
- Do not trust a brand logo, countdown, comments, or claims that other people already received the reward.
- Do not use links from the page to verify the promotion; find the official brand website yourself.
